In 2019 I was fortunate to obtain a small grant from the BSDCQ to undertake the Future Directions BSD Health Project during 2019/2020. The project was due for completion by the 1st March, 2020, and this was achieved.
 
The activities undertaken for the project included: 1. Conducting a breed health survey. 2. Analysing all data provided through the survey. 3. Writing a full report of the findings. 4. Holding a facilitated workshop to prioritise the health concerns in the BSD based upon the outcome of the breed survey.
 
This then laid the foundations for further activities that I completed:
1. Developing a BSDCQ Breed Health Strategy with specific breed health plans (including evidence; support; education; testing/screening; desired health outcomes; evaluation).
2. Disseminating the project outcomes to BSDCQ members, Australian breeders and breed clubs, and anyone else who has the interests of the breed at heart;
